| KVKK AMENDMENT HAS BEEN PUBLISHED IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE! Significant amendments were made to the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (KVKK) and some laws, including the Criminal Procedure Code, and these amendments were published in the Official Gazette. Within the scope of the amendments, the conditions for processing sensitive data have been revised. The “explicit consent” application, which is the most used for the transfer of personal data abroad, has been replaced by the adequacy decision, appropriate assurance, and incidental situations. The court in charge of administrative fines was designated as administrative courts. As of March 14, 2024, the United Kingdom and Türkiye have officially opened trade negotiations for an upgraded Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The aim of the negotiations is to make Turkey a strategic gateway between East and West, offering ample opportunities for growth and innovation that UK businesses can take advantage of. In 2023, Türkiye’s exports amounted to 255.8 billion dollars. Although the European Union countries are among the main export countries, there is also a significant increase in Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.
